Exports of immune products increased by $ 7 million – from $ 244.8 to $ 251.8 million, and orthopedic appliances and artificial body parts – decreased by $ 1 million, to $ 24.9 million.
Moscow became one of the largest exporters of Russia. According to the Moscow Export Center (subordinate to the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the Capital), in the first 11 months of 2020, the volume of Moscow supplies abroad in the segment of medicine and pharmaceuticals reached $ 434 million, which is 35% more than in 2019.
The export of medicines from Moscow grew by 58%, with the supply of antibiotics growing by 84%. In the segment of medical equipment, supplies of medical products for electrophoresis (almost 3 times), therapeutic respiratory equipment (3.3 times), diagnostic reagents (2.2 times), gas masks and breathing equipment (by 93%, or 1, 9 times).
The main importers of pharmaceutical and medical products from Moscow in January – November 2020 were Belarus (+ 13%), Uzbekistan (+ 43%) and Ukraine (+ 98%). In addition to the CIS countries, the capital enterprises of this segment supplied their products to Europe and Asia.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the export of medical products from the Russian Federation in 2016–2018 increased from 4.7 to 8.8 billion rubles per year. According to the program for the development of the medical and pharmaceutical industry, the targets should be 18.4 billion rubles by 2024. In accordance with the Strategy for the development of the medical industry developed by the department, the volume of exports of medical products from the Russian Federation by 2030 should be increased 10 times.
In March 2020, the Government of the Russian Federation banned the export from Russia of a number of medical devices used to prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19, but in June 2020 the ban was lifted.
