Virus collection and transport system suitable for collection, transport, maintenance and storage of clinical specimens containing viruses, including SARS-CoV-2.
Virus sample collection and transport kit includes virus transport medium in a plastic screw cap tube and flocked nylon (G00084) or viscose (G00085) swab, packaged in peel-pack, sterilized by radiation:
- The transport medium inhibits the growth of Bacteria and Fungi by including special antibiotic additives that ensures the trustworthiness of the sample,
- Maintains the infectability of viruses for up to 48 hours at room temperature and up to 28 ºC,
- The volume of medium is 2 mL,
- Compatible with the molecular diagnostic techniques by quantitative PCR of clinical specimens containing viruses, including SARS-CoV-2,
- Flocked nylon swab provides the most efficient sample collection and its following transfer to the transport medium,
- Swab axis with a break point. Swab is fixing in the screw cap when sample collection is done,
- Tube with label for patient and sample information,
- Compatible with automated sample preparation systems.
